Samir Handanovic was named as the man of the match during Inter Milan’s triumph against Sampdoria as they played a few days ago and the Slovenian goalkeeper maintained a clean sheet by denying Maxi Lopez from scoring a penalty set-piece and had a busy evening throughout the entire match.
Inter Milan is working hard trying to secure a spot in Serie A which would allow them to compete in the Europa League for the upcoming season. Their victory against Sampdoria was crucial for them to continue fighting for Europa League dreams but Handanovic announced that there still is a lot of work left to do and he does not feel like the victory has placed them closer to their objectives.
“The important thing for me was winning” he told australia spain odds. “However, it wasn’t a positive day since the game could have turned out differently, honestly speaking. Europe is neither nearer nor further away. There are three or four teams fighting for those spots. I’ll be happy when we’re competing for something more important.” Handanovic said.
The 29 years old Slovenian goalkeeper of Inter Milan, Samir Handanovic arrived to the Italian club on July of 2012 with a price tag of €11 million and ever since then, he has been a consistent performer but things may change soon as there are reports emerging claiming that Inter Milan are willing to sell Handanovic in order to create enough funds to sign Edin Dzeko or Alvaro Morata.
Handanovic would be sold to Manchester City as their first choice goalkeeper, Joe Hart has been under a lot of criticism in the past few months and Manuel Pellegrini is looking to find someone who can take the place of the English shot-stopper with Handanovic being a possible option.
